June 4 - 14, 2008

By David Mamet
Directed by Sue Murguly.

A chilling, provocative and controversial drama by a multiple award-winning playwright. When political correctness collides head on with academic freedom, what ensues is a taut, intellectual sparring match between teacher and student where there is no absolute truth. A series of events open to interpretation, a struggle for power and a life torn apart. OLEANNA. The truth is academic.

"Educating Rita"...
May 29 - June 15, 2008

By Willy Russell
Directed by Sue Murguly.

Willy Russell's story of a hairdresser out to better heerself positively bristles with hilarious comedy and wry observation. Frank is a tutor of English whose disillusioned outlook on life dries him to the bottle. Rita is a hairdresser hungry to find some meaning in life. With Frank as her tutor Rita embarks on an Open University course and her education process begins. The effects are both amusing and dramatic as her fresh, intuitive approach becomes clouded and stifled as she grapples with the problem of a formal education.
